Yesterday we hosted a great bunch of folks, the Flush Senior Citizens. They're a very inquisitive and pleasant group, just really nice people. It was a lot of fun showing them around and explaining how we grow bananas, figs, and blue tilapia here in Kansas.
Here are some pics:

Red Hat Ladies
GreenFin Gardens hosted the Red Hat Ladies for a tour on Thursday. They're a wonderful group of ladies, and we really enjoyed showing them around and giving them the chance to taste some authentic Kansas-grown bananas.

More Kansas Figs
Salce fig
DD's VdB fig (1st in dirt, 2nd in cup in aquaponics system; interesting color differences)
Alma figs
Bottom two are Alma figs, top left is Hardy Chicago, top right is DD's VdB (dirt)
DD's VdB was rotten, the Alma figs were sweet and good, and the Hardy Chicago was outstanding.

First Hardy Chicago Fig
I picked my first Hardy Chicago fig today; it's the smaller fruit on the right (Violette de Bordeaux on the left). I started the plant over the winter from a cutting.
Here they are cut open (3 pieces on left are VdB, 3 on the right are HC):
They were both delicious. Both varieties are keepers.

Another bunch of bananas is ripening
I noticed a few days ago that another bunch was starting to turn yellow. I've eaten about 6 so far, just breaking off individual yellow fingers whenever I'm hungry for fresh bananas. Here are some pics that I took today:
